anybody else

having a terrible end to 2009? I am. My husband lost his job. My kids asked Santa for things that I can’t afford to get them. And I just got back from spending almost an hour on the side of the freeway waiting for someone to tow our now dead only car back to our house.

I’m not exactly an optimist, but I thought of a way to make something good happen before the end of the year. I’m going to give a photo session to someone else who’s having a rough time of it this year. It’s something that won’t cost me anything but time.
For this to happen, I need your help. Nominate someone you know to receive a free photo session and a disk of digital files by emailing me at info@wynonarobison.com. I need to know why you think this person/family needs something good to happen to them this year. (I won’t post that publicly without permission.) The session will need to take place somewhere between Salt Lake City and Logan, UT before April 2010.
Edit to say that you can nominate yourself – even if you’re another photographer. You know if you’re having a rough time of it.

I’m not nominating anyone right now (maybe I will soon), but I just want to say that this is why 2010 will be much better for you and your family…
I love your work and you just seem like a quality person.
Here’s to a better year!

Sorry you are going through such a tough time. I rec’d the most emotional request yesterday and I am doing the session for free as well. I think you are amazing to see beyond your situation to help someone else. Wishing you and your family all the best. :-)

I’m nominating my cousin, Andrew. He is married and has three young daughters. He is battling colon cancer right now. He is only 32. He lives in American Fork.
What a sweet and selfless thing to do. Thank you.

Wynona, I’m so sorry to hear about the rough time you’re having. Most of all, though, I am really impressed that in your time of need, you’re giving your time and talent to help someone else.
The only thing that’s hard for me is starting up my business (it’s so confusing & I’m often not sure what I’m doing). Therefore, I don’t have anyone to nominate, but I would like to second Melissa’s cousin. The images his family would get from this would be so priceless.

Thank you all so, so much. I am trying to stay positive, keep looking for the bigger picture, and take comfort in the smaller things. Holding out hope that 2010 is a much better year than this last one.
Brandy, that is so sweet. I realize that this post is very ungrateful, and at the time I was concentrating on the bad that’s happened this month, and completely leaving out the good. We’ve been helped by some friends and some “santas” and our Christmas should turn out to be rather nice. A much more grateful post will come up tomorrow or the next day with an official thank you to those who’ve thought of me and my little family since things started falling apart.

Wynona. I am so sorry! I feel your pain! My hubby shhh…. cried last night. I have only seen him cry at our babies blessings, BROKE MY HEART IN TWO. The stress of life has been weighing on his shoulders. We just had one of our horses pass away last week, 150$ to pick the body up, our windshield broke on our car +$150 to fix it, then the battery, then the alternator totaled $1,000, another one of our horses needs surgery we just found out, who know’s how expensive it is, and all right before christmas! I too gave away sessions. It truly is the only thing we can do to give back to others who are in our situations! I love your blog! I love your pictures! You are so talented! I will be praying for you!

Let me start by saying I just ran across your pictures on Flickr (I added you, too), and I wanted to say just how awesome your portraits are. You are an amazing photographer, and I hope someday I can take portraits as well as you.
I also just read this post about your hard times this Christmas, and it completely sucks to hear. I think a lot of people are having hard times recently due to the poor economy, etc. I just wanted to say, though, that I am sure there are tons of strangers out there that would love to lend a helping hand with anything you ever need. Just let us know. :)
I hope things get better, and don’t forget the sun will always rise again. :) Happy new year!
